A Flower
I saw a flower blossomed in June
Widely opened and scented with perfume
The honey bees hovering thus drawn to its scent
And of its sweet and juicy content.
It is hand painted in lilac that is smeared in yellow
Each petal perfectly lined and cushioned as a pillow
Its long slim stem clothed in green
That which upholds the flower for all to see.
The true lifespan is unknown to man or scientist
Through nature's decision its life is not calculated
Even for death nature plays its part
But its life is much surer than a broken heart
The flower which i saw that blossomed in June
Happy, fair, honest and true
Concerned with no sadness or distress like the flower in June.
